My Siargao Surf/Laugh trip for 4days

It was my 5th time visiting Siargao island which I consider one of my favourite in PH.

I was too excited for the long weekend holidays since my boss decided to switch our holidays from Feb24-25 to Feb25-26 which falls thursday-friday well that means I have straight 4days off including saturday and sunday.I was joined by my 2 other clown friends Gel and Xeddie.

But because of that excitement, 3days before the trip i was dreaming already of waves and my board in the island, unfortunately I left my fins and leash at home 😦 but no worry I can borrow from my friend Miss Grace Balbarona. 🙂 and this happens to me at a regular basis when I travel.

Here’s our iterinary:
Feb 3- book a flight cebu-surigao via Cebu Pacific Air (RT cost around   2300Pesos), direct flight to Siargao island is too expensive for us. If your good at Piso fare or seat sale better to book a direct flight to Siargao island to save time, because via surigao will cost you another 2-3hrs boat ride and another Php200.

So February 25 we arrive in Siargao, it was like coming home, we took the island motorbike to Gen.Luna where the famous surf spot cloud 9 is located.Check in at my friends place (Ocean Pacific Inn) which my friend gave us room discount as I always stayed in her place when I’m in the island.

My Manta board is too excited to be in touch with the waves again after months.

Weather is not so good on our first day but thats okay I definitely don’t care hahaha….The island still has this very special vibes for me…It still feels the same although some improvements is visible already, like the concrete roads and some new resorts.

What I miss a lot in this place is Daku island, its the island across Gen.luna can be travelled for 25-30mins, it has white sand beach and simple huts you can rent for PhP300 for the entire day, they also have small huts were you can spend the night if you opt to stay. But what I like most during this trip is I got to play volleyball with the island kids under the scorching sun. We surf for an hour near daku island surf spot but tide too low and I’m constantly hitting my knees in the reef 😦

We continued surfing the 2nd day and played volleyball again with the locals near the Boardwalk.During the night we visit some of the local dance places within the interior of the village called Jungle Disco bar where surfers from different parts of the world chill out after a days surfing , locals and tourist also comes to this place.

Our last day is rest day and just chitin in the beach and then prepare to leave – back to the jungle again ^^

Overall this trip was awesome !! Photo credits to Gel Alman for the Gopro pics altho he wasn’t able to take some surf photos grrrrhhh, thanks to dear Xeddie ang ”Batang bronse” , Grace Balbarona and staff  of Ocean Pacific Inn near cloud 9 ,you can contact her for affordable rooms good for 2-3 people, they have boards for rental and a restaurant that can serve your meals.

Party places and restaurants with international cuisines are also available, local barbecues and bars are around. You can go around the island by bicycle I prefer that way.

I meet awesome people also during this trip, Sidney from UK- a brilliant young guy who has wavy hair , I’m jealous with his hair been dying to have a curly hair since kid, and also meet Gidi Shinaar-a surfer/photographer/engineer from Israel a very kind person , I hope he would push through with his plans of doing business with hanging rice making, he was not a bad student at all hahaha even with a bad teacher :p

I hope to cross path with this awesome people again.

Soon I will be back to this place. ❤
